Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Sibyl is a synthetic society simulation platform operated by Tomás Sexenian, Solymar, Ciudad de la Costa, Canelones, Uruguay (“Sibyl”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Sibyl service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service description

Sibyl is an idea-validation tool that simulates a synthetic society and returns a structured verdict (rating, disagreement range, reasons, and improvement suggestions) for any idea you describe. Sibyl is currently in private beta.

Sibyl produces simulation estimates only — not professional advice, market research, legal counsel, financial guidance, or any regulated advisory service. Verdicts reflect the response of a synthetic, simulated society and carry no guarantee of real-world accuracy.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Sibyl. By using the service, you confirm that you are accessing it for business or professional purposes, not as a consumer for personal use unrelated to a trade or profession.

4. Beta access

During the private beta, access is granted by invitation or waitlist only. We reserve the right to admit, decline, or revoke access at our discretion without giving reasons. Features, pricing, and availability may change without notice during the beta period.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@hellosibyl.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

6. Payment terms

6.1 Plans and prices

Current pricing is published at /pricing. You pay the real compute cost of each run, marked up, not a flat rate. We offer:

• Monthly subscriptions— Starter ($79/mo), Growth ($199/mo), and Studio ($499/mo), each granting a monthly usage balance in US Dollars equal to the price paid (e.g. Starter grants a $79 balance). Every run you validate draws down that balance by its real compute cost, marked up by a fixed 4× multiplier and never less than a $1.00 minimum charge — a simple, short message costs less of your balance than a long document or a multi-artifact comparison. Unused balance does not carry over past the billing cycle it was granted in, except where an active subscription is renewed before expiry.
• Pay-as-you-go— top up a standing balance in $20, $50, or $100 increments; each run draws down that balance the same way a subscription balance is drawn down (real compute cost, marked up 4×, $1.00 minimum). There is no flat per-run price and no subscription required. If a subscription balance runs out mid-cycle, we may draw the run against a funded pay-as-you-go balance instead of blocking you outright; the Billing page inside the app always shows which balance funded each run.
• BYOK (bring your own key) — a flat $9 platform fee per run when you supply your own OpenAI API key; token costs are then billed to you directly by OpenAI, not metered or charged by Sibyl.

Prices are not a function of how many synthetic people a run uses — panel size is an output of the simulation, not an input you choose, so it is never a pricing axis; what determines cost is the real compute the run consumes. Because cost varies run to run, we cannot disclose an exact total in advance the way a flat price could — the Billing page inside the app shows the exact cost and charge for every run you have made, and “typical run” cost estimates published on the pricing page are based on historical runs, not a quote. All prices are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

6.2 Payment processors

Payments are processed by dLocal Go and, in some regions, Mercado Pago— licensed payment service providers. Accepted methods vary by country and may include major credit and debit cards and local payment methods (PIX, OXXO, PSE, and others). By completing a purchase you also agree to that processor’s own terms and conditions. We do not store raw payment credentials on our servers.

6.3 Subscription billing and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed monthly (or annually, at a 20% discount) in advance on the date you subscribe. Your subscription auto-renews each cycle unless you cancel before the next renewal date. You will receive an email reminder at least 7 days before each renewal, stating the amount and how to cancel.

You can cancel at any time, with no phone call or email required, from Billing → Cancel subscription inside the Sibyl app at hellosibyl.com/billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal charge; any runs remaining in your current paid cycle stay usable until it ends. You may also request cancellation by emailing contact@hellosibyl.com, and we will process it within 2 business days, but self-service cancellation in the app is faster.

6.4 Refund policy

Completed simulation runs are non-refundable. Once a run has been executed and a verdict delivered, that run is consumed and cannot be refunded.

For subscription plans, if no runs have been consumed in the current billing cycle, you may request a full refund of that cycle’s charge within 7 calendar days of the billing date. After 7 days, or after any run has been consumed, the subscription fee is non-refundable for that period — cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period.

Pay-as-you-go and BYOK platform-fee charges are non-refundable once the run has started, since compute cost is incurred at that point.

To request an eligible refund, email contact@hellosibyl.com with your account email and transaction details. Eligible refunds are processed within 5–7 business days through the original payment method.

6.5 Taxes

Prices do not include taxes, duties, or levies that may apply in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for any applicable taxes on your purchases.

6.6 Automatic billing (payment mandate)

Where available in your region, you may choose to authorize a payment mandate — a one-time card authorization, through our payment processor, that lets us charge that card automatically for your accrued pay-as-you-go and overage usage each billing period, instead of you manually topping up a balance each time. A mandate charges only the real, already-incurred usage cost for that period (computed the same way every run is priced under §6.1) — never a speculative or estimated amount, and never more than what you actually used.

Authorizing a mandate is always an explicit, separate action — it is never a default, and never required to use pay-as-you-go pricing manually instead. You can revoke a mandate at any time, with no phone call or email required, from Billing → Automatic billing inside the Sibyl app at hellosibyl.com/billing. Revoking a mandate stops future automatic charges immediately; it does not affect your account, your usage history, or any balance you have separately funded — you simply return to manual top-ups going forward. Per our payment processor’s own policy, a revoked mandate cannot be reactivated — authorizing automatic billing again later requires a fresh authorization.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Sibyl only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, or violates any third-party rights.
• Use Sibyl for regulated or high-stakes decisions in the domains of politics, health, clinical medicine, financial advice, lending, hiring, legal counsel, or similar areas where simulation estimates would be unsuitable or legally restricted.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the simulation model or its outputs at scale for competitive or redistributive purposes.
• Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or payment requirements.
• Resell or sublicense access to Sibyl without our written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without refund.

8. Intellectual property

Sibyl and its underlying simulation engine are proprietary. You retain ownership of the inputs you submit. The verdicts and outputs we generate for you are licensed to you for your own business use; you may not redistribute them as a product or service.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of verdicts, or uninterrupted availability. Beta software may have bugs; downtime may occur.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sibyl and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tomás Sexenian, Sibyl, and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Cancellation and data deletion

You may cancel your account at any time by emailing contact@hellosibyl.com. Upon cancellation, your access ends at the close of the current paid period. We retain your data for 90 days after account closure before deletion, to allow for dispute resolution. You may request immediate deletion of run data at any time (see Privacy Policy Section 8).

13. Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at contact@hellosibyl.com. We will endeavour to resolve any dispute within 30 days of receiving your written complaint. If we cannot resolve it informally, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Canelones, Uruguay.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Uruguay, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the site at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
